Jumping Back On!

Okay, you can stop staring at your computer screen like that! Yes, this is a blog post from me… I’m back from the wilderness of madness. Well, maybe I haven’t quite left there yet, but I’m please to say I’m jumping back on the home-education bandwagon.

I’m groping around trying to find my bearings again. After being out of action for so long it is quite blinding when you get out of the tunnel and ‘see the light’!

Updates, updates…

— I’ve got two kiddies to home-educate inshaa`Allah:

Child One: Jund – 5 and 2 months

Child Two: Maymi – 2 and 7 months (of course, that’s not her real name, just one of the weird nicknames I call her… there are too many actually, but Maymi will stick for the purpose of the blog!)

— My children are SO different! Night and day, chalk and cheese, black and white… whatever you want to call it, they are different.

Jund is quiet, observant, forbearing and will smile at people he first meets and tell them his name if asked.

Maymi is loud, impatient, a leader and reserved when around people she first meets… and will not answer any questions.

— I’m in planning mode for the next weeks or so – regathering my thoughts, finding my footing and revisiting the goals I have for my children. It’s going to be one heck of a journey and I want to best prepare for it.

  1. As Salam Alaiki sis! Is this a route you’ve decided to stick with for as long as possible? Or just waiting for other options to come along? Masha Allah homeschooling is a BIG job (and may Allah reward all those who are able and capable of doing so… Ameen)!

All we can do is what is best for us, and suits our needs. But I’m pleased you are able to stick at the homeschooling route alhumdulillah!! May Allah make it easy for you as lil Jund gets older and lil Maymi too, and may they reach those goals you have for them! Ameen.

  2. Wa ‘alaikumus-salaam Sisters!

Habeebah, it’s something that I want to stick with for as long as I can, inshaa`Allah, but for hubster it’s a filler. Allah knows best, but I want to enjoy it while it lasts, bi`idhnillah.

I know homeschooling is not easy, but it’s not rocket science either. But I admit, it can be very intimidating, and I sincerely believe that it’s NOT for everyone, no matter how much homeschoolers gloat about the benefits that can be reaped. What’s right for one family may not be right for another, right?

    Aameen to your du’aa! x.x.
